A place of understanding and pragmatism, collaboration and commitment, we have transformed the health and social care landscape. By joining together adult social care staff from the City Council and the NHS, the Salford Integrated Care Organisation has become a prime provider of all adult health and social care in Salford. Meaning we have a unique partnership approach, designed to deliver a personalised, joined-up service for around 1000 people living independently, and those in residential and nursing care across the region.

Our remit is huge. As our annual turnover of roughly £85million and approximate 1 million visits a year illustrates. From social workers, community assessment officers and nurses, to allied health professionals and administrators, we work together with a shared vision, shared values and a focus on shared outcomes for the people we care for.

As a Social Worker here, you’ll put the best interests of Salford residents and the people who use our services first and work co-productively to share ideas about how we can get even better at what we do. As you’d expect, the work can be challenging at times. So, you’ll need to think creatively and work flexibly. To use your problem-solving and creative planning skills to achieve good outcomes that help meet people’s individual health and social care goals. Person centred, empathic and compassionate, you’ll possess excellent listening skills, be highly organised and kind. Crucially, you’ll be passionate about social work, social care and working with adults in a strengths-based way to meet their care and support needs in order to live as independently as possible.
