This is the place to continue your heroism

We are proud to have gained the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in recognition of our support towards the Armed Forces community. The award is the highest recognition presented to organisations that demonstrate a commitment to treating those with military experience and backgrounds fairly. As a large employer for the Greater Manchester region, we are delighted to uphold a positive stance for employees who are Veterans, Reservists and Cadet Force Adult volunteers, as well as spouses and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces.

We have a number of policies and initiatives in place designed to support continuous service, while making transition from service personnel to NHS employee as smooth as possible. These include:

Providing support for service personnel issues
Employing members of the armed forces community
Establishing a human resources policy with suitable procedures
Being flexible with regards to training and mobilisation of all reservists and veterans

Our reservists and veterans work in a variety of roles across our Care Organisations and are not solely medical and nursing staff. The transference of skills between the NHS, the reservist themselves in terms of personal development and the armed forces, are mutually beneficial. We recognise that reservists and veterans are well motivated, self-disciplined as well as skilled in communication, teamwork and leadership – all qualities valued by our organisation, and the NHS more broadly. We encourage all those with affiliations with the armed forces, to make an application to join our teams!
