This is the place which employs over 3,300 nursing support staff, including Trainee Nursing Associates, Care Support Workers, Healthcare Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.

Whether it is in our hospitals, community facilities, or a patient’s home, our nursing support staff are always ensuring clean, safe and personal care. They’re super skilled, brilliant with people and are experts at multitasking. They take on the toughest tasks, face challenging and often difficult situations and support patients and families at their lowest points. However even with this, our nursing support teams create the light in the dark, lift up spirits and turn a bad day into a better day.

From helping patients to get showered, dressed and go to the toilet, to making beds, having a chat, recording vital signs and taking bloods, you’ll provide exceptional hands-on care and support our qualified nurses to meet high care and therapy demands. You’ll get involved with meaningful activities too, like potting plants, painting and baking. And, as a key member of the wider care team, you’ll rub shoulders with the wider multidisciplinary team and gain valuable experience that could lead, if you wish, to a future as a qualified nurse.

Immense empathy and excellent communication skills are a must for this role. Plus as an excellent team worker, you’ll be skilled at collaborating and have a real passion for helping and supporting others. You’ll also have the compassion, patience and resilience necessary to be both strong and gentle when required.
