The Northern Care Alliance has been shortlisted for a HPMA Excellence in People Award in the ‘Recruitment Team of the Year’ category.
The HPMA awards aim to shine a spotlight on outstanding employees and teams who work in people professions across the UK.
This recent nomination recognises our commitment to provide the best recruitment experience for people looking to join the NCA, and for existing employees moving to new career / promotional opportunities at the Trust.
A great recruitment journey helps the NCA to recruit and retain the best talent, which ultimately impacts on the quality of care for our patients and service users. By creating a personal and expert recruitment service, we have been able to achieve positive outcomes for candidates and managers, save on agency spend and make joining the Trust as seamless as possible.
Time to hire is one of many key improvements that the team have made with the time taken to clear pre-employment checks reduced by 60% from 39.4 days in August 2022 to 16.1 days in April 2024. Additional improvements include the introduction of digital ID checks, simplified job descriptions and enhancing inclusive recruitment practices.
Lindsay Hellewell, associate director of resourcing, said: "Being shortlisted for ‘Recruitment team of the year’ is fantastic recognition of our work over the past few years. The team have worked incredibly hard to transform the recruitment experience at the NCA for candidates and hiring managers so its brilliant that this has been recognised at a national level."
Winners of this year’s HPMA Awards will be announced on 3 October 2024.
