Preparing you for your future
We’ll support you to achieve your potential and be the best you can be while carrying out your day-to-day role. Our annual appraisal conversation helps you to take control of your own development, supported by ongoing development conversations with your manager throughout the year.
We have a wide and diverse internal learning and development offer, with on-the job learning opportunities, mentoring, certified coaching and in house courses.
Plus, we also support colleagues with external learning opportunities through study leave, apprenticeship opportunities and secondments.
Awards and achievements
We are proud to announce that we are the only NHS organisation in the UK to receive a prestigious national award for exceptional commitment to learning and development. The Northern Care Alliance was named winner in the 2023 Princess Royal Training Award through the City and Guilds Foundation.
The Northern Care Alliance was named "Best for Supporting Line Management" at the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter Awards in 2022. The award recognises our ongoing commitment to support all our colleagues to fulfil their hopes and ambitions and reach their full potential.
Leadership
We believe that everyone demonstrates leadership and we invest in leadership development for every colleague and level of leadership. Our committed and highly qualified teams are focused on growing leaders, harnessing talent and enhancing team and individual performance.
We have a great range of resources to support leadership development. This includes an in person NCA Accelerated Leader Development programme, a Virtual Campus of leadership tools and resources (including a 5,000 strong learning community) and leadership management apprenticeship programmes. On top of this, we also provide colleagues access to Regional and National Leadership Development Programmes, and relevant online workshops and seminars.
