The place to browse our latest recruitment events

The thought of starting a new job can be quite daunting and it’s only natural to wonder if you’re making the right career step.

Visit this page to check up on our events calendar and explore upcoming recruitment activity across the year.

We have a strong reputation for hosting Nursing, ODP and Midwifery events and take pleasure in welcoming healthcare professionals with a wide range of experiences through our doors. Due to our size as a large NHS trust, our open days tend to be site specific and relate to job opportunities at Bury, Rochdale, Oldham or Salford. In this way, you can narrow down your location of choice and chat comfortably to clinical managers across a range of specialties. If you’re a final year student, undecided about your future career path, our events can provide the perfect opportunity for you to discover your passions by talking to senior colleagues and hearing about our preceptorship programme. We tend to get busy really quickly at these events, so be advised to book your place as soon as a date has been announced to avoid disappointment. If interviews are available during the running of the day, this will always be stated in the description.

Our Allied Health Profession (AHP) and Healthcare Science (HCS) open days provide a close and unique environment to chat informally with members of our teams. On arrival, you will be invited to walk around a variety of tables, staffed by clinical teams from different specialties. Teams give presentations and senior colleagues talk about their journey into the profession and provide more information on how the NCA can support you in your career. If you’re visiting a speciality specific event, you’ll be able to tour our facilities and get a feel for where you could be working, whether this is a department, ward or laboratory-based role. We’re always interested in hearing from final year students, qualified AHPs and HCS and those looking to return to practice, however, please always view the event description for attendance criteria.

We hold recruitment events, aimed at entry level roles several times throughout the year, as well as attending hosted job fairs. Whether you are just thinking about a career in healthcare or looking for a new challenge, these events are an opportunity to speak with colleagues about the 350+ career paths in the NHS and what it’s like working with us in the Northern Care Alliance. We appreciate that sometimes there are barriers to applying for jobs or you might not feel quite ready, so we try to hold our events in community locations that are easily accessible. We also partner with local organisations to provide help and advice on preparing for work in the NHS. We know the thought of starting a new job can be quite daunting and it’s only natural to wonder if you’re making the right career step. By attending one of our events, you will have access to advice and support to allay those fears and feel inspired to take your next career steps with us.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is happy to announce that our work with Greater Manchester Integrated Care to get local people into employment has been shortlisted for the national 2023 HSJ Awards.

The shortlisting for “Workforce Initiative of the Year”, recognises our work to bring innovation into our workforce development and breaking down the traditional barriers to create an adaptable workforce that delivers quality and efficiency.

A lot of work has gone into the series of special events aimed at giving local job seekers the opportunity to explore a wide range of health and care opportunities under one roof with partners from across the organisation and Greater Manchester (GM) coming together to make them happen.

The latest series of events attracted interest from over 1000 people in the Bury, Rochdale, Oldham and Salford area and enabled our teams to showcase a wide range of exciting employment opportunities, grow awareness of NHS careers and recruit directly on the day.

Donna Mclaughlin, Director of Social Value Creation said,

“I am beyond proud of everyone from across the NCA who came together to make these local events happen including colleagues from recruitment, workforce, learning and development teams and line managers from the care organisations. The events were so successful because of the engagement of other health and social care employers and support organisations including local Further Education (FE) colleges, Department for Works and Pensions (DWP) and our local authority colleagues.

Being shortlisted for an HSJ award is a great honour and with we also have to say thank you to GM Integrated Care, clinical and community services as well as our partner organisations. Through our work together, hundreds of people have been able to leave our local events with a job, or a plan for a job and a future in health and social care.”

The selected HSJ winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at Evolution London on November 16th, 2023.

The full list of nominees for the 2023 HSJ awards can be found at Home | HSJ Awards
